Our Italian partner, the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Confcommercio, kicked off the digital edition of the traditional annual forum, which could not be held at the announced venue in Florence due to the Covid emergency. A new format was then proposed, which dealt with a more political part, related to the current Italian and international economy, with in-depth analysis related to business management. The volleyball champion Jack Sintini was also invited and spoke at the event.
The President of Young Entrepreneurs of Confcommercio, Mr.Andrea Colzani opened the event, followed by the President of Confcommercio, Mr.Carlo Sangalli, who analysed the current situation and outlined the vital role of Italy and Europe in helping to find a way out from the crisis while reaffirming the importance of the individual commitment of entrepreneurs and the effort of the young in particular. As a result of his reasoning, the key for an exit strategy in the current crisis was to be found in the ability to digitalise and innovate and in a strongly European context.
The former Italian Minister of Economy, Mr.Giulio Tremonti then offered the large audience of young people connected from all over Italy and from abroad a historical insight into previous crises and outlined with crystal clear precision the prospects that await us in the near future.
Several questions – many of which were asked by the President of Jeune, Mr.Andrea Gelfi – regarded the relationship between Europe and the United States and led to the conclusion that only a strong and cohesive European Union can defend our economies and provide us with a tool to compete in the global market.
